It is based on the principle that a workout should be "FUN AND EASY TO DO" allowing Zumba® participants to stick to the Zumba® Fitness program and achieve long-term health benefits. Zumba® is a "feel-happy" workout that is great for both the body and the mind.

    Zumba® is a fusion of Latin and International music - dance themes that create a dynazmic, exciting, effective fitness system! The routines feature aerobic/fitness interval training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body. Zumba® utilizes the principles of fitness interval training and resistance training to maximize caloric output, fat burning and total body toning. It is a mixture of body sculpting movements with easy to follow dance steps.

    In the past years Zumba® has become nothing short of a revolution. Coining the concept of fitness-party™ and making fitness fun, Zumba® has spread like wild-fire, and has positioned itself as the single most influential movement in the industry of fitness.

  • Comfortable clothes you can move easily in- you can purchase Zumba® attire at .  Zumba® Fitness recommends that you wear "cross training" "aerobic" or “dance” style shoes. They provide the cushion and medial lateral support needed for side-to-side movements. They also have low traction rubber for easy sliding and turning. Please be careful with "running shoes" since they use a heavy tread on the bottom and are designed for forward movement.

    Some suggestions: Nike Shox, Nike Zoom,  Ryka D, Musique IV, Capezio, Bloch & Sansha dance sneakers.  Dance sneakers can be found on and These are suggestions only! Please try on the shoes in the store & move around in them to test them out for yourself.

  • Water and a towel. You will sweat during this fitness party.

  • Absolutely not! You only need to be open to learning new things and having fun while working out.  Move your feet to the beat and BLING it On!

  • The number of calories each person burns per class varies. However, depending on your body parameters (type, composition, intensity, range of motion), you can up to 1200 calories per class.

  • As with any exercise program, please check with your physician prior to any type of vigorous or strenuous activity.
